Litigation Technology

Ok. Most in-house counsel don't do much litigation. So why do you need to know about litigation technology? Because if your outside litigation counsel isn't up-to-date on technology, you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. You need to know enough to ask your outside counsel the right questions.

Time and time again we hear that demands of corporate clients are driving much of the adoption of law firm technology. Take advantage of your leverage and push your outside counsel to make use of proven tools. If they don't respond, look for other firms that will. Don't assume that the fact you are working with a large law firm that they are using the best technology. Many smaller firms are doing a better job of keeping up with the latest technology than some of the big firms.

What are the things they (or you if your department does litigation) should be using?
