PDA Utilities - Move Beyond the Basics

PDA's powered by Microsoft's PocketPC software already include pocket versions of Word and Excel. What do you do if you have a Palm-powered PDA?

Blue Nomad offers WordSmith, "the most revolutionary, intuitive and full-featured word processor, doc viewer and enhanced memo pad available for the Palm organizer. WordSmith synchronizes and integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Word so that your desktop documents can easily be transferred to your organizer and vice versa with little or no change in formatting!" $29.85 from the Blue Nomad online store

Documents to Go from DataViz, Inc. adds support for Excel files as well as Word. Additional programs are available from DataViz for viewing and editing email attachments and PDF files.

Combine WordSmith  or Documents to Go with a portable keyboard, like the StowawayTM Portable Keyboard, and you may not need to take your laptop on a trip again. Here's a list of other software that works with the Stowaway keyboard.

Need a legal dictionary on your handheld? The only one that seems to be available can be found at http://www.memoware.com/cgi-bin/mwsearch.cgi?Any=law+dictionary. The online version of this dictionary is at http://www.duhaime.org/diction.htm. "Researched, written in plain language and provided free of charge by lawyer Lloyd Duhaime."
